Good to read. I'm there in April for three nights. I'm happy to find out that it's not worth upgrading. I hate getting the hard upsell from hotels - Ws seem to be the worst for this - I even had it when I checked in at the W Bali which was really unclassy of them. My favourite W is in Guangzhou where I've 60% success of a great suite upgrade and no attempt at upselling me anything.

Also good to know that it's not one of those party Ws with a pool bar that's like Potato Head in Bali full of ghastly screeching drunks.

Did you get any noticeable Platinum benefits? Breakfast I guess. Any booze in the evening? Samui hotels are notoriously stingy and the most I've got there has been two drinks at the bar per room each day.
