A couple of differences between Anytime vs. Planet (and why I chose Anytime over it):
1) Anytime is open 24/7, all clubs. Planet didn't used to have any 24/7 operations. Now some locations do, but most aren't open 24/7. Notably, many aren't open 24 hours on weekends, which is one of the few times I get any free time.
2) Anytime is international. Even domestically, I've found clubs in remote places such as towns with a population of 5,000 people.
3) Anytime clubs tend to be smaller. I don't like working out in a giant gym filled to the brim with people.
4) Anytime's decor won't offend those who aren't color-blind.
5) The local Anytime's staff were very up-front about costs and such. No long-term contracts at mine. Not sure how it's done now since I've been a member for 8+ years.

Cons:
1) Gyms are franchised and not all of them are great. Out of all the ones I've been to, there's only been one which was sub-par (Tampa, Kennedy Blvd), but there's a very nice one just a few blocks away.
2) No locations in NYC (Planet has 4)
