Hello all,

My Global Entry application was recently denied. I have no criminal record, never violated any customs laws, had the same address for well over 5 years, etc. Long story short I have no idea why I was denied without getting an interview. I do have a Muslim name but I was born in New York and I’m not even Muslim. I’m Greek on my mother’s side and Pakistani on my dad’s side. I’m totally fine with being profiled because of my name but to be denied this privilege when I’ve done nothing wrong just doesn’t sit right with me. I even emailed a complaint after 7 weeks passed and I received no response. Maybe I angered whoever read the email because the denial came just days after I complained. What really frustrates me is I’m a native born US citizen and I received no response for 7 weeks whereas my wife who is a permanent resident was given conditional approval 72 damn hours after she applied and she’s Venezuelan which I believe is now considered one of the countries that our government is less than pleased with. I actually find it hilarious that CBP’s vetting process bars people that have done nothing wrong from getting Global Entry but somehow fail to properly investigate the backgrounds of their agents that let migrant children die in their custody or run around the Texas border murdering prostitutes. Lol! I’d say their vetting process needs work. I realize not all CBP agents like to hack up hookers and watch young kids die from dehydration but clearly some clown is reading our applications and just deciding he doesn’t like a person’s name. Anyhow I better be careful. The next serial killer CBP decides to give a gun and a badge to might have it in for people with Muslim names. At any rate I’m grateful to be an American and not a sex worker on the Texas border or a 7 year old migrant from Latin America. I was contemplating escorting my wife to her interview just in case the agent mistakes her for a sex worker but I’m afraid they might fire tear gas at us. CBP! Making America great again.
