While most drivers don't like calling international numbers, you can message them inside the app (in English), or you can call them. One tip for you is to try to initiate trips from places that aren't super crowded, and have recognizable landmarks (e.g. if there is a convenience store nearby, stand in front of it, and message the driver with the name).
Thanks, for the tips.
But can one load the international phone number on the didi app?
In India - we get around the long distance phone issue by using whatsapp. Is that app ever used in China? Or is there a way that a Chinese driver can call an international phone number free of charge via wechat?
