Didi app on our iphone - having trouble accessing english app

We are trouble getting to the English language version of didi- while in Canada.
Can we download the English language version in Canada/USA or in China?

What cell phone number can we enter as our own - I understand that didi drivers will not call long distance phone numbers - even if our cell phone is in China.

Step 1

Step 2

While most drivers don't like calling international numbers, you can message them inside the app (in English), or you can call them. One tip for you is to try to initiate trips from places that aren't super crowded, and have recognizable landmarks (e.g. if there is a convenience store nearby, stand in front of it, and message the driver with the name).

Thanks, for the tips.

But can one load the international phone number on the didi app?

In India - we get around the long distance phone issue by using whatsapp. Is that app ever used in China? Or is there a way that a Chinese driver can call an international phone number free of charge via wechat?

You need to provide a phone number to register. It doesn't need to be a local number. Many drivers are not willing to call foreign numbers.

on our phone, the app will not let us remove the Chinese country code of 86, and replace it with Canada/USA of 1.

I'm an android person, so I don't have experience with their iphone app, but I assume they are functionally the same. In the itunes store, search for didi English, and that version should permit you to enter +1 in place of +86.

There is also a sign in with WeChat option.
