My wife and I chose to do this. We got tickets on an Air NZ round trip itinerary in Y from LAX to LHR in March 2019 for the same price as Norwegian is selling tickets today (to LGW). I have a lot more confidence that Air NZ will actually be able to operate the flights we booked though...
