There is a header on the booking screen which says "
Select the reward you want to use:". Underneath will be two radio buttons. One is for Point Advance. The other will either let you deduct all the points now, or if you don't quite have enough, it may give you the option to buy the remaining points and then apply them.
If you don't have near enough points you'll get an orange banner explaining how the Point Advance reservation works.
