Hilton Gold is an amazing status. Just the Free breakfast pays for it. Not much value of a Diamond unless you are staying in resorts in Asia.
I've been Diamond, and I've been Gold, and I'm hard put to recall the difference other than the smattering of extra HH points that come with Diamond.

Same here. There are a couple of Hiltons in London I roll up to at 1030a or 1100a, time and time again, and they have always checked me in with a smile. Diamond or Gold.
