Have to politely disagree with 2 of your 3 "sucked". The SFO Marriott is one of, if not my favorite non beach hotels. Great M Club. I always get an upgrade. Good gym and restaurant. And i am a major aviation nerd so I love the plane watching out on the bay right outside of the hotel.
JW Marriott LA Live: have stayed there a few times and have never had a bad stay. Rooms are great. Club is a little small, but serviceable. Gym is good for a hotel. And its right in the middle of everything.
I will also politely disagree! The only time I have stayed at LA Live, I was upgraded to a corner Junior Suite that was lovely. Agree that club is smallish, but food selection was fine. Great location.
And yes, I have stayed several times at SFO Marriott with great to very good results. Almost always have bayview room, love the newish M Club and other facilities. Easy to get to and from SFO.
Would love to know more details on why the OP disliked their stays.
