There is no rule that requires to reaccommodate you on a SkyTeam carrier, I'm surprised they chose to reroute you on AA rather than AF/KL or even DL from LHR, as [MENTION=189671]flying_blue_white_red[/MENTION] mentioned if you have the time I would try their online options as they are rather efficient.
