I do believe that people appreciate that. But when you have four FAs on a flight, and they load three bags each into the overheads, then there's a dozen passengers who now have zero space for their rollaboard. FA bags should be accommodated elsewhere on the plane.
As a matter of fact, they are the second last people off the aircraft...why don't they just gate/sky check? Their bags could be waiting for them in the jetway.
