Just that I triple checked with the sales rep... (reservation department sales rep checked with loyalty department rep and supervisor) and I provided my booking confirmation and warned them my hotel went up in category.. then I said ok.. I can check my work schedule and then book flight and call back to change? and they said yeah.... Do you think the first reservation rep and loyalty department supp I talked to were just misinformed/misunderstood?

That is such a smart workaround, im not sure why I didnt think of that!!! I guess it works since Marriott has free cancellation?
