Well, I was surprised last week on a US domestic flight when I started receiving text messages at >30,000 ft and was able to carry on a text conversation. My iPhone was in airplane mode and I didn’t buy wi-fi access. That was the first time that happened for me. However, as I’ve mentioned, I really don’t want to do this on a regular basis. I prefer my “alone” time.

I’m only curious about Allo, don’t plan on using it and, btw, I don’t use WhatsApp, either.
