I too couldn't do it online, but when I called in on two separate occasions they clearly knew it was a restricted fare and wouldn't allow the application of an RPU..

Just want to confirm if you made use of this benefit on LH (not UA) in europe. If not, does anybody know if LH extends to others on the reservation?
I don't want to assume anything regarding LH treatment (pesky german efficiency!) on a UA light ticket.
I was referring to UA metal.
