ex-EWR? $6500 is in the Z fare range on UA, and the U fare range on SQ (second-cheapest). Round-trip D fares start at $8K.
A more thorough answer would have been "prices are influenced by inventory, and UA can serve a different set of destinations and customers on its EWR-NRT flight than SQ can with its EWR-SIN flight, but also SQ is deliberately keeping prices low."
