Does anyone know if these new AMEX rules apply to an upgrade AMEX offer for upgrading a Hilton No annual fee Amex to Ascend ? Would you get the same warning ( stating you will not get the bonus) when you attempt to upgrade if they are not going to give out the points ?
Did you do the upgrade and not have any issues?
I am in pop-up land with AMEX, but out of the blue got an upgrade offer to change my Ascend into an Aspire and get the 150,000 point bonus after spending 4K and I am very interested in doing the upgrade as long as I can get the bonus. Per what Mia said in response to your post, it does make sense that upgrade offers would be different than new applications.
