As a Penangite, I would have to recommend against staying in Batu Feringghi. Georgetown, especially within walking distance of the heritage zone is where you want to be.

Not much choices if you want to use miles, but hotels,like City Bayview and Cititel are so cheap anyway.

There are also new boutique hotels like The Edison which is quite highly recommended.
