A couple months ago I traveled from the Northeast US to Haiti. I have Global Entry and of course TSA Precheck. The booking was two separate one way tickets on different airlines. On the outbound, I had TSA Pre. On the return, I had SSSS on the PAP-FLL segment. On the FLL-PHL flight, I didn't have SSSS, but I didn't get TSA Pre either. My assumption is that I got SSSS because I was a male traveling solo into the US on a one way ticket, but I have no idea if that is reality.
