"Asia" is a rather broad category. I see UA roundtrip P fares (requiring Mon - Thu travel and typically 28 days advance purchase) for between $4K -$5K roundtrip from EWR to PEK, PVG, SIN, ICN, etc. HKG is different because UA has no P fare filings on it and the cheapest fares are $8K Z fares.
