Seated in C+ asked to move to 17B

Wasn't me but a guy got screwed by Delta at least I think so.

DL 493 yesterday I was in 10A

Dude in 10C is seated and comfortable.

GA comes on board and stops at my row. I think I got the upgrade because I was 1 for 1 on the list with 0 seats so I thought there was a no-show. I was ready to walk up to 1st.

But nope she tells the guy in 10C that she needs to accommodate a family and he has to move to row 17. He said ok but when he gets to 17 sees its a middle seat and starts to complain but by then a woman and her grandson sit in their seats next to me. (kid has some really smelly feet there outta be a rule about keeping your shoes on).

Anyway, the guy protested and they eventually shuffled people in the back of the plane around so he could get an aisle seat. Not sure where he landed but I saw him in the aisle. The lady in 10C leans over and asked me if they were in 1st class. I told her no Comfort plus, she then told me they were originally further back but wanted to sit together and didn't want to fly if they couldn't. She gave me candy so I liked her better than the original dude in her seat.

So what would you have done if you were the guy in 10C? I wouldn't have moved unless they compensated me somehow. The GA made it seem like the guy had no choice she said he had to move. But then again I don't know if he was a non-rev etc.
