I also sent an email to MileagePlus support and they answered saying that "United has no partnership with SunExpress so I won't get any miles". I answered clarifying the points I brought above and waiting for their answer.
This will be my last flight in 2018 that could credit to UA and the difference between staying *G for 2019 or not. So especially concerned there 🙂
Of course this is what MP support will say. They will also say that Swiss Global Airlines is not Swiss International Airlines is not Swiss and will not earn miles.
So in any event, if this is absolutely critical for your renewal ... don't do it. This should credit just fine if the automatic credit works. With EW this can at times be a bit tricky, but I have been lucky. Any regular EW flight will earn including these wet leases .... however, if a manual credit is required, then you will run into the same issues with MP support which could take forever to resolve. I have been getting miles for EW wet lease flights, but they credited automatically.
