You need to process immigration & customs with all your checked & carry on luggage at MEL.
At MEL the terminals are close together. Jetstar is a longer walk the QF & Virgin VA
QF 94 arrives at 07:30 & QF96 arrives at 08:25. A busy time for international arrivals. Note the date change.
