Might beg to differ — flew JFK-ICN 4 times in Y this winter when they swapped the A380 for the 772 and didn't have any issue with the Y cabin — in fact probably would prefer it to the A380 lower deck since the 772 has 33-34" pitch while the A380 is at 32", and the older seats on the 772 are somewhat better padded than the new A380 ones. Granted the A380 has better IFE screens but you have the same limited selection so it doesn't really make a difference to me.
