All of the things you mentioned require a room key, at least for pretty much every hotel I’ve been to in the last ten years. The shuttles don’t.
With that logic, the TV remote and alarm clock are free for the taking. After all, if Marriott didn't want guests to take them, they could bolt them down like the lower-level motels do.
