Over the last several years, I've stayed in a lot of Courtyards and am used to getting nothing and going somewhere else for food, so getting $80 of f/b credit was a pleasant surprise. I'm comparing the benefit to the bag of chips I got from the Market place at a Courtyard 2 weeks earlier, not what it "should" have been all along. The max is $20/day. More than 2 people in the room does not result in more F/B credit. My husband could be an elite due to RewardsPlus with United but he hasn't bothered to sign up because we always book a Marriott room in my name. If having 2 elites in the room permitted us to get more benefits, I'd tell him to sign up!
Regarding bottles of water in the room (what this thread was about in the first place), I've found that to be location specific, not brand specific. I don't really care because I always have a bottle with me from the flight and I refill it in the fitness center. There is always some type of filtered or bottled water available there.
