Curious: did AMEX account for any of the inquiries? I read that AMEX does a soft pull once you have existing cards with them.
Definitely the 12 (now 13) inquiries. 6 from Chase, 4 from Amex. I've definitely opened some Amex cards with soft-pulls, but there are still hard pulls.
