While I'm not familiar with the Foundation's work in recent years, it might be worth noting that the individual responsible for that mess no longer works there. The fact that she now represents the GA-6 in the House is an entirely separate can of worms.
You won't get the $30K deduction for your donation. I was going to (not the full 30k) but learned "For charitable deduction purposes, each mile is valued at 3 cents per mile. The receipt of miles may reduce the tax deductibility of your contribution."
