For many aircraft you may also be able to reasonably locate a chart/data with fuel burn for climb as well as average taxi fuel burn rate. Combined with basic cruise burn data (adjusting for decreased weight over time as mentioned) that's probably close enough for the purpose you've described.
And then take into account the wind speed & direction.
