There is an iris camera at the CBSA in Sarnia if you want to add an iris scan. Having the card itself wasn't necessary, just the Pass number. This was a pleasant surprise as I was figuring I'd have to wait until I had the card in my possession and then head down to Windsor .
I was told over the phone by the CBSA agent at the Windsor airport that I would need to have the physical Nexus card in my possession in order to get the iris scan. I already have a Global Entry card and was certain that my Known Traveler Number was not going to change in the transition.
