I doubt it will prove very profitable as a stand-alone unit, but it does offer the Halo effect, and gains huge publicity for the resort in general.
Afterall, the major fashion brands make much more from handbags and shoes than they do from their Haute Couture lines. The latter are just to drum up publicity and attention.
