I used to work for ACA (Atlantic Coast Airlines, now defunct). We flew for both DL and UA (and later our own carrier). We had a few CRJs that were painted in "generic" liveries so they could be used as spares. Makes sense when you have a large enough regional carrier.

Working on the ramp at IAD, we used to see cans (Containers with bags or cargo) come off our planes from airlines all over the World. I always thought it would be interesting to put a GPS on one of those to follow it around for a year. There's a lot of recycled stuff in the airline biz.
