While I had the agent on the line, she confirmed that I have until December 31 to get those 30K+ points left. I know some people were still wondering if the LTPP was only an August 1 deal, but it looks like it's until the end of the year.
The disadvantage of qualifying later in the year is that your LTPP status won't become effective or more importantly even be verified by Starriott until January when it will be too late to do something if there's a problem.
