Ploughman's on BA440
I don't often fly CE, but I really want to get to Silver this year so occasionally pay the extra to upgrade a flight as 40 tier points a shot will get me there much quicker than 5.
I was due to fly LHR-BSL but a cancellation saw me go LHR-AMS then AMS-BSL (on KLM). I think I paid around £40 to fly CE instead of Y for my flight, and it turned out to be even better value than I had planned. Two flights and two lounges!
I don't remember the other option but I went for the Ploughman's and it was tasty. A good portion, and great service too, for such a short flight. The subsequent KLM offering shows that BA is still a good choice. The (flagship?) lounge in Amsterdam is nowhere near as good as BA's in LHR, the seats on the flight are just as cramped and as it was 2x2 there was no free middle seat, and neither the food nor service was as good.
