It seems they are not budging on the in-person verification process at a Qatar Airways office.
I will just do that -- I'm not going to fight this any more against the hordes of contact center staff. I luckily have travel booked, but it's still a complete waste of my time.
I can only imagine how people feel who don't live near an office and get permanently locked out of their account unless they fly to an office.
It's ridiculous.
