If someone is going to buy a steerage class ticket, one should not be surprised that they are suffering steerage class and all the tortures that come with it. Buy cheap, get cheap. It's no different from booking a room at the motel 6 and complaining there is no spa or memory foam mattress topper, but mold in the tub and mites in the bed.

Ending up in the middle in Y...or even Comfort..is the very definition of being the loser in the game of flying. Sometimes it's not your fault, but more often than not..it is. Flying and the seating game favor the fittest.
