All's well that ends well, sort of... I still plan to be very careful about not accumulating too many pints. Not easy when the bigger gift cards, etc. cost fewer e-Rewards dollars per REAL dollar and they limit the redemption frequency on some rewards.
My policy is never keeping more that 10-20% above the cost of the highest single redemption that I am interested in - in Europe that means a maximum of 10,000-11,000 points, in the US no more than about $120.
