This is really a poorly executed plan.
That should be a hint that they are not going to cancel them for the existing refund value. They've been fair and responsive throughout the acquisition and I don't expect this to differ. There are probably not that many of these certificates going around anyway. They're something of an arcane redemption option used by the kind of people who read travel blogs and FT.
