I do have a question regarding the Nexus machines - what is their definition of "food"? Does it include hard candy or gum? If you declare it on the Nexus machine, does that automatically send you into a secondary inspection room with a delay and full search, or can you just show or declare the items to the inspector at the exit and keep going? With Global Entry, 99% of the time, they just ask at the exit and wave you on so there is no delay.
