Now that the Marriott portfolio soon will be available to SPG elites in the new Loyalty Program, I’m curious which JW Marriott properties are considered among the best by the Marriott elites who have frequented them and have more experience with more of them. As I often frequent luxury level hotels, the JW Marriott “affordable luxury” brand may yet be of interest to others like me coming from the SPG universe.

What are everyone's favorite JWs and why—and if we were to collectively crown a single winner, which would it be?

The best properties should shine in several categories, I’d think.

(1) Amazing hard product (new building or thoroughly renovated and updated historic building, excellent furnishings, impressive location)

(2) Amazing soft product (tremendous luxury service, luxury amenities, excellent food/beverage)

(3) Perhaps also the best or among the best luxury hotels in a location/city that doesn’t have any or many other luxury hotels at all?

(4) Perhaps JW properties that are smaller/more boutique than average, or that may otherwise feel more like a “RC-lite” property?

I am mimicking the comparable threads in the Starwood Forum in case anyone were interested in those. For this purpose, I’m most interested in the luxury level brands. Credit to [MENTION=328838]helvetic[/MENTION]!
