If i rent a XFAR or an LFAR can I be sure that it's 4WD/AWD ?

I'm planning a trip this winter and will be in need of 4WD/AWD , I've seen on other stations that I can pick an extra that guarantees me 4WD/AWD but not from LAX.

I will either fly in to LAX or LAS (Since I might drive up to Colorado, which is not allowed if i pick up in California, and then return at LAX) but neither has that option
