I must say that it sound as though you do not have a young daughter. Yes, I consider my daughter that turned 16, 7 days ago, young! 7 hours in an airport alone is enough to have me freaking out... But I guess we all are not seasoned world travelers like some? I chose (and paid a lot more) for the flight she was on because it had the least stops/duration that I could get! I also feel that a 7+ hour delay is more than a "hiccup"...
