It will be a gamble, especially for the night certs, Marriott is still quiet about the details and terms.
As for points refund, one of the bloggers has confirmed, Marriott will NOT REFUND your points should you be out of the cancellation period.
Based on Marriott's past IT track record, thread carefully, as this is a merge, it will be a nightmare for them to retro-actively refund points based on the old category redemption.
