i see from the date that you’ve already taken the flight, but my view for the benefit of others is that you should have been fine in the buddy seat. I saw somebody considerably taller manage ok in the buddy seat in row 1 of a 744 last week, and that is a narrower buddy seat area than 2K on a 772.

As for the IFE, if you get Rockwell Collins, then it is almost as ropey as in other cabins, on a bigger screen.
