I think it was the only seat left, and it was an impulse buy and I wanted to fly the new plane. The “Assist Crew” was still flying onboard and I think it was either the second or third flight of that particular ship. I don’t know if that factored into the price or not, but it was what it was.

EDIT: Actually, I got a few details wrong. I looked back in my history and it was 13NOV, from BWI to SIN, but returning to BHM, so multi-city. BWI>DTW>NRT>SIN, returned 20NOV SIN>NRT>DTW>BHM. That, and it was $13K, not $17K.

What was strange is that I booked my BHM>LHR at the same time, which was $4K, and Delta did double-authorizations on BOTH charges, which amounted to the $17K.
