As for terrorists, given that in the U.S. they are primarily white nationalists, I suspect that they might not wear a handkerchief just for cultural reasons. Of course, TSA has confessed that there have been no threats to U.S. domestic-departing aviation at all since 9/11. So talking about what they would or wouldn't do is a theological question, akin to debating the number of hairs on the armpit of an angel. Not an empirical one.
