You won't be dropped to Gold. If you've already completed the status challenge then you ARE an SPG Platinum and so you will get Platinum status in the new program, which should be valid till the start of 2020 (if you had just completed a Marriott Platinum Challenge you would have Platinum Premier for the same period).
