The next year I switch from Torch Club to Diners, perhaps because the Torch Club product was discontinued. Card number starts with "3". It was 1980, and the card had a magnetic stripe! Still not owned by Citi, still no rewards.
No the card lasted until the merger with BP. I had both Torch Club and Carte Blanche with Amoco and the Sun Diners with Sunoco. In 1982 the card did have a mag stripe. It was nothing more than your Amoco account number with a 30 added to the front and a 14 added to the end of the card.
