The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel has a perfectly fantastic beach...please plan to spend at least a full day enjoying the beauty there. Swimming is especially nice in the morning! Enjoy your stay...we're heading to the Big Island in a few weeks, and will spend several nights up in Volcano. Visiting the park during the day and then returning later to enjoy to the glow is just wonderful.
