Until now SPG elites have done quite well with: (1) the Gold status match (Gold easy to get on SPG) which = free breakfast and lounge access at Marriott (though not vice versa for Marriott Gold) (2) Great redemption rates on top Marriott properties with 1:3 conversion (3) Temp improved award rates at some SPG properties from August-December.Come 2019 and 2020 we will see rates jacked up to 95k for all of the expensive properties.
