I think your maths is a bit off plus remember that Starpoints will become Marriott points at 3x current value. So before it was 5,000 bonus for 20,000 for a total of 25,000, it's now simply adjusted for the new point value. 15,000 bonus on 60,000 for a total of 75,000. 3x what it was before.
This is correct, however it's the credit card earners that get hosed as their points accum will only be 2x per dollar when is was 3x.
